High winds
« on: September 16, 2013, 07:45:36 PM »
Today and the next couple of days high winds are expected on the salt flats, moving west to east, sure hopes this helps dry the salt so the next two events can happen, wind could be as high as 60 mph. hyway warnings for travelers are up.

That sounds great!  I checked Wunderground, and it's currently showing no wet stuff until the 25th, so maybe World Finals and the postponed Shootout still have a chance.

By the way, Glen, previously you had mentioned that both Vesco cars would be at WF.  With the Shootout now being moved to after WF, is there any possibility that the 111 could make the Shootout?

The high winds not only should help the drying, but reinforces that it was a good idea to postpone. Nobody would have been running in this wind.
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.

Winds reached no more than 20 MPH for a short period of time.
