My calendar just reminded me!
« on: September 16, 2013, 11:26:57 AM »
yup, my yearly "appointment" went ding-dong and reminded me it is time to pony up a lil doh-ray-me to SSS's Site.
How could a year go by so quickly?

Slim,
Thanks so much for you personally keeping us informed and maintaining a 1st rate "meeting place".
Over the last month, through this site, I have "met" some of the most knowledgeablest/most helpfulest/most nicest guys on 4 salty wheels.
I would never have even attempted to make the switch from two to four wheels without YOUR site.

Karl

Karl, I thank you very much for the $$.  I got the notification from Paypal and would have thanked you with a personal email -- but since you mentioned it here - I will too.

To those of you that have recently sent in donations to keep the site running (or whatever your motivation) I send thanks, too.  I've been on the road and busy with Kudos Laser and have fallen behind in sending my thank you notes.  I'll send them soon, though, so that you know that your $$ did arrive in the landracing.com bank account.  I try to send those notes so you know that your donation did make it through the traffic jams on the information superhighway.

So far I've been able to keep the wolves at bay with donations, and I'll keep it that way 'til circumstances force me to look for major sponsors.  There are a few "irons in the fire" for the website that might make me look for more than maintenance costs -- but if those irons bear fruit I will do my best to make you glad that I did what I did.  It's a site for all of us - and I want to make it as good as I can.  Most of what makes it good, though -- is what you folks out there do with the site -- posting comments, questions, build diaries, and photos.  Keep it up (I know, that's what the Viagra sales literature promises, too :-D).

And thanks again, Karl.

Yes, there is a "Donate" button in the left side column of the site's home page, as well as at the top of the forum.

Thanks for asking about the donate button, Dick.  Your question and Scott's response will help others know that there is such an easy way.

I'll mention, also, that when at the PP site to donate to landracing.com -- please consider clicking on the "gift" button (or whatever it is) so that Paypal will not take out their pound of flesh fee.  It means an extra 2 3/4% or something goes to the site, not to Paypal.  It's not that I object to PP getting paid a bit for the convenience they offer, but what the heck -- I object even less to lr.com getting as much as possible out of your kind donations.
