Doug is right, the gun collection @ Cody is beyond awesome. Have been there two times and the art  as well as all of the Indian history takes a full day to enjoy. Hope to go back again.

I do not know if the director of the museum is still the same but I sold him some halibrand blanks a few years back. He is a car guy and owns one of the Donahue/Penske Trans am Camaros.

I need to go back for a third visit to Yellowstone since ' 96.
eastbound out of an east entrance towards Cody, you can see ram (100 or more) grazing on the ( Buffalo Bill?) damn.

you need to spend some hours in that museum at Cody. there might be five separate museums(?) .

The North East entrance/exit is my favorite.

It takes you up thru the Bear Tooth mountains to Red Lodge.

We've got  a good story about going out the northeast entry to Yellowstone.  For now -- I'll mention that when we were at the top so we could see the Bear's Tooth -- we were wearing every bit of clothes we had with us, and the photos shows us shivering with big snow banks right behind us.  That was in early August.  Dress warmly, Don.

we Came south through the bear tooth. stayed in Red Lodge at a nice mom and pop cabin type motel. ate on the rear deck outside at the bank . then walk through town enjoying the fiberglass
bison.

heading South ( and west?) out of Yellowstone last time we went through Twin Falls. evils ramp is still there, but geez that town has grown .

my first visit to Wendover and lands end was that July in ' 06
