Optima Battery Enclosure?
« on: September 12, 2013, 03:55:30 PM »
3.K of the GCR states that a battery located in the driver's compartment must be enclosed in an acid spill proof box.

Does this apply to a sealed Optima battery?

Thanks, Don

Reading a little further on it says something to the effect of, and I'm paraphrasing horribly, that AGM type batteries; i.e. Odyssey, Optima, etc. don't need to be sealed up in an acid proof box.

The newer Optimas are no where near the quality of the ones 10 or more years ago. LOTS of issues. We have beaten that horse to death on other boards.
