F 86 Tank
« on: September 11, 2013, 05:44:31 AM »
I have an opportunity to get a F86 tank. I've been told it's too small and it'll never work. I being overly confident think it's only metal and can be stretched to suit my needs. I'd be running mainly in the ECTA, and would probably use a cycle engine due it's compact size. Right now this is only scheming.

You can fit a SBC in a 24" dia tank & the driver is not a big deal if you plan it right.
Let me know if you wana talk.

Driver not a big deal?!  Let me add that I'm 5'11" 195 lbs, and have torn both ligaments in my left knee, I dont bend very much.

A BBC? That escalated from my tiny cycle engine idea.

In that case, I'll just stretch it a lot, and slide in a Cummins diesel. I need a rule book, is there a class for a Diesel Lakester?

I am getting a rule book at the first of the year, when I pay a for membership.

No class for a diesel lakester & you'd need a 40" tank to hide one of those Cummins lumps.

Alamo Aircraft in San Antonio has a bunch of B-52 Tanks that a man can walk around in---no I think you could live in the biggest ones.  8-)

LonH, can set you up with a 36" dia drop tank with removal sections if interested. Just in case you want to go big!
