DUH  I guess I am stupid.....I would guess it would be in a thread entitiled "SHOOTOUT 2013"  but what do I know?

so Ray, How does this work?  do you put the cancellation of the World Finals in the Shootout thread and the change in date of the shootout in the World finals thread just to keep us guessing??

I looked on his web page and just talked to Mike Cook himself:

I assume that setup is on the 6th.

This is a change from what I had heard before so I thought I would post it here.

no thats it for tonight.  This software has burned me out and given me so many error messages as I try to post anything, I am going to bed.  Maybe tomorrow.

I just followed the link to Cook's site for the Shootout and I, too, see the dates have been moved up.  It does say 7 - 11 October, doesn't it?  I'll call Cook later to confirm or deny the dates.  In the meantime -- Dan do you care to let us know what you know about the date for the event?  (Dan is the guy that gets to check displacement on the vehicles that qualify for records, so I'd expect that he'd know the date - since he's got to be there).

The dates have been moved up to October 7-11 of course depending on track conditions and mother nature.

also...just as an overall fyi on trips to Wendover...

instead of paying sometimes around $200 a night at a crappy hotel

you could fly into Wendover with roundtrip airfare, limo picks you up, stay at
one of the nice casinos, three night accomodations for ......$149 total...no strings attached

it looks like Stainless could fly in from Wichita for Shootout, whether it happens or not, i hear he has
a motorhome coach to retrieve anyway...others may have similar situations or reasons to drop in during the year..
