I'm sure hoping the weather holds out. The only good part about the WOS rain out is I'm working on the car instead of watching everybody else race.

Seriously thinking about making the trip to watch the Shoot Out!
Maybe there is no Heaven. Or maybe this is all pure gibberish. The product of a demented hill billy who has found a way to live out where the winds blow. To sleep late, have fun, drink whiskey, and drive fast on empty streets with nothing in mind except falling in love or getting arrested.    H.S. Thompson

If we actually have the weather reprieve that is expected the Treit and Davenport Target 550 'liner will be

   at the Shoot Out.

Testing of various systems and seat time will be available at this meet and there is no where else that

   we can accomplish this.

We hope to see you there.

That is good news Doc.

I am headed that way tomorrow morning. I will on the salt with Mike Cook Monday morning for his assessment. If the salt needs work there is on one better than him to fix it. I have seen Mike save race tracks when everyone else has turned heel.

If the weather holds out and things go as scheduled, what time do the festivities (i.e. the drivers' meeting) start on Thursday, Sept. 12?

We've just had a real heavy rainstorm come thru northern Utah from the south...it's knocked out the weather radar and has a local college football game in a weather delay (I heard that BYU stadium looks like a ghost town...but the U of U Utes won big time!)  I'm hoping that the storm track has moved east and missed the salt.  I got my fingers crossed.

It was lightning that caused the Lavell Edwards stadium to be evacuated.
It is all steel construction; that is the NCAA rule about danger in the area.

At least a 1/2 hour delay.
This storm traverses 3/4 of the East-West axis of the state, and at least 50 miles N_S.
Winds reported in Provo at 78 MPH.
A little chilly in your tank top?

Driver/rider meeting at approx. 5 PM. All must attend, rules of conduct for the event are discussed and the ever popular 'who wants to run first' lottery is done.

Looks like Ron made wrong turn:

Ahh, those pesky "supplemental time slips" we all know and love, right Dan-oh?  But I guess since salt is for racin' and pavement is for gettin' there, somebody's gotta pay for the black part, right?
I want y'all to know there's about 50 yards of the Silver State 100 race course (Hiway 318) that is "mine", so if you come that way, be grateful.

Max good going!!

:(

After three days of tuning and fixing in my driveway, it is my displeasure to announce that Black Lightning won't attend the Shootout.  A lot of unforeseen problems, many of them fixed, many not.  Too much to do.  Not enough time.

I took one for the team yesterday regarding the weather. I stopped by the Salt on my way home from Idaho and when I left I tricked the rain into following me.  I headed East then went down to Dugway then over the mountain to Rush Valley and got hit by a torrential downpour. I'm pretty sure there's no Salt left under my pickup from Speedweek.  Wayno
