"Dan Parker, a race car driver who lost his sight last year in an accident, makes practice runs on the Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah, on Aug. 25, 2013. While Parker had done test rides on an airport runway in his custom three-wheeled motorcycle, he said he wanted to ride on the salt several times to test his equipment and accustom himself to the feel of the surface before he took part in a timed trial. On Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, Parker successfully completed the time trial. His top speed was 55.331 mph."

Congrats to him!  His speed may not have been earthshaking but when you think of what he achieved it makes saying "I can't" seem pretty feeble.
Get off the stove Grandad.  You're too old to be riding the range.

Reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw on the road years ago on the back of a side car attached to a motorcycle and carrying a wheelchair: "What's YER excuse?"
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

WOW !!

Where will this skill be put to use?

It appears like a project our government would support with a huge appropriation.
