Looks like the one hour storm total rainfall radar indicates the flats likely got about .25 of rain in the last hour.
The cell is moving north north west in the wendover area.

Bears keeping an eye on the radar for a while.

I saw the same clump of rainy clouds on radar on the weather site I use -- so have been waiting for someone to tell us whether or not the racing surface got much of the rain.  Let's hear it from someone out there, please. :?

Earlier posts do not recommend lap tops. Although they are now like VCR recorders, throw away consumer products.

DW

True, that.

It's the analog/digital-digital/analog converters necessary to turn audio signals into 0's and 1's - they tend to run a little warm when used for extensive periods of time.

The towers have better cooling capabilities.

Yes, there are ways around it, but for sheer reliability, you need a tower.

And a monitor . . .

Which I forgot to give Gregg . . .

But shipped out 2nd day air to Mayor Crawford today . . .

I hope this doesn't rain on anyone's parade, but there's a huge weather cell passing over Wendover (and apparently the salt) right about now (09/03/13, 14:00 MDT)

Same worry as 2009 - press on - it will evaporate.

She's on the way to Wendover, caravaning with Gary.
They were about MP 50.
He told me about 15:20 that they hit rain so hard in Tooele, that the wipers couldn't keep up. Found a rest stop and napped until it passed.

He'll be super busy most of the rest of the day, and the AM.
Said to try and call him about 10:00.

I'm still sure we'll have a great meet.

REmember - what was it, '09?  We teched vehicles on the pavement at Land's End -- and had a fine event starting the next day when the salt was dry.

Nancy just asked an important question -- how well had the salt dried/healed after the rain that ended Bub's so early?  Was the salt all better - or are we starting from a damp point already?

And I'll see about getting whatever software we need from Meridix.  I'm not sure how to get it to your laptop or the "new" tower -- but I'll find out tomorrow and letcha know.  Travel safely.

Jon, I will download it to my laptop, copy it to a thumb drive and have it ready to load on the tower Friday!
I'll get the password for the software from you Friday!

I was wondering if that would make it to Windover. We had rare summer thunderstorms here (Sacramento area, directly west of Windover) yesterday. I was hoping Nevada would dry it out before it got to Utah.

The storm cell split. Part went North West into Idaho ( Twin Falls area) and the other section went toward Salt Lake City.

Earlier this afternoon the Wendover area was bright sun.

I'll attach the radar as of 7:38 PM PDT.

I have no idea of the condition of the salt.

Ya know. If there was such a threat of rain so much in Wendover, you'd think there'd be a tree somewhere.  Wayno
