I thought that once the engine was measured it could be sealed so you DON'T have to do the tear-down after each record run.  It is that way for SCTA -- but not Bub/AMA?

You could do it that way too. Don't want to tear down everything after the first run, so happy to risk the record by sealing and continuing to try and better it.

Bo (wobbly walrus) has safely arrived here

Regarding weather; KSL mentioned at the top of the hour that a .major wind storm is moving across the West Desert; gusts as high as 78MPH.

Not showing much here, but they said it could affect traffic on I-80.
Nothing like a 60' trailer or a set of triples on its side to bottle things up.

Currently, it shows 22 moving directly across the course, R to L.

I'm thinking that photo was from early on, prior to runs being made.

I said this on another topic, but Dallas Volk just PM'ed me to say that the Bub event has ended -- thanks to 1" rain in a half-hour.  Next year, for sure!

The salt was spectacular. The best I can remember. I give massive kudos to Mr Manning. He gave it his blessing. The weather was spotty, but for the most part we missed the worst of it. He might have Bill France's way with the weather gods.

The BUB meet always has good salt. :stickout

This was my first visit ever to the salt, and I couldn't believe how smooth it was. I run a rigid a triumph with about 1 and a half inches of front suspension and never once had any handling issues.

Very very impressed and a great experience.
