The recommended size of the wheels to use from goodyear is only a recommendation. I am sure it is based on drag racing. Everyone at the drags use narrow wheels. I think it is only cya ( cover your acura) for goodyear. We have raced at the salt for 44 consecutive years without a tire problem using the wider wheels, so my opinion is based on experiance. it seems to make the car more stable and gives a larger footprint for traction.

Thanks for the info toclub. My immediate goal is 200+ on a 434 n/a sbc, on pump fuel. The next is 220, and if the piggy  bank holds out, and I can keep alzheimers at bay, initially 240, and then whatever it takes to have the fastest stock bodied vette in Oz. BUT as I only have the car half built, and have to modify heads and build the donk, if I can get to 175mph and a chute pull at Lake Gairdner in 2014/15, I will be a very happy chappie
