Race Seat Size
« on: August 17, 2013, 03:14:25 PM »
I am looking at building my 90 Corvette to run at Loring. I am seeing sizes on race seats but none of the website really say what that size refers to. If I am looking at a 14.5" Kirkey seat is that hip width? I just measured the stock seat in the Vette and the interior hip width is barely 13" I am 6'2" so I do need a fairly tall seat back.

Ask Kirkey what that dimension means.

And wear whatever suit is required when you measure yourself.

Yah I can tell you a 3.2a-20 suit makes your butt a lot bigger than you thought it was!

Seat size in the catalogs refer to your butt width.  Sitting on a flat surface and a tape measure,  have someone measure the width of your bum. That would be the start ofthe measuring process.

Thanks for all the help. I found all the measurements you need on the Kirkey website. A seat is on the way.
