Mike

I always hoped someone would run it again and think that Carl could have got it to 300mph if he hadn't passed.

So the Phoenix is well and truly named.
Will this be it's 3rd life?

I heard from more than one of what I consider fairly reliable sources, that the frame is truly ROTTEN, as in rusted out.

To make a safe runner would require major rebuild.

Unless a guardian angel would turn up with deep pockets; the best place for it is a museum.

Any volunteers that truly enjoy the truck as much as some of us?

Jim, You are absolutely correct.

It won't ever run again.

It will probably sit in the museum and drip salt water.

The Phoenix has been sold to a collector in Minnesota, but I can tell you that the truck is in prime shape and I should know Carl was my Dad. The truck has very little rust, I am talking the size of a quarter in the lower corner of the fender. Really in it could be up and running in a weekend. So I wouldn't count it out, I don't know if it will ever run for the record. But it wouldn't be that hard to put it on the salt just to lay down some smoke. Along with that if any one has a picture of the early days could they message me. I would like to put a Dvd together at some point and believe it or not we don't have many pictures of it in 91 or 92 with the motor exposed. Also if any one had pictures of when we blew both front tires in 92.

Thanks to the many racers that helped my Dad and RB over the years.
NO no It's not on fire .... it's a Diesel
