Vesco also tweeted that the #444 may not make it, as they're running out of time.

The Speed Demon gets down the course with no problem because of Downforce. That car has a bunch of it making it very stable. That equates to Drag that takes HP to overcome, which is why Mr. Dutwieler comes in.

that car looks pretty darn neutral to me..... i dont see where you see downforce...... Turbinator is #111 not #444

Sounds like Damion Gardner is done for the meet as the "Green Demon" spun again this morning. 195mph was his best speed of the week in his quest for 200mph. He's still the Worlds Fastest Sprint Car though.

I'm guessing Damion's got Salt Fever and he'll be back.

If any of you are out near Perris California tomorrow night, head on over to Perris Auto Speedway and watch Damion run with the USAC/CRA sprint cars. It's one heck of a show!

I know that Turbinator is #111. I was commenting on the #444 Little Giant. They had planned to try and run both cars from what I understand.

You see that big flat bottom that slopes up at the back of the car? At 400MPH what do you suppose the air pressure is there?

Turbinator DID make a run, looked very much like the previous run.  I've gotta go turn in my vest and get home, so I'll post photos of it later.  The 444 car is in the staging lane on course 2 now....no idea if either will make another run.

Thanks, Ray.
Since the gerbils ran out of peanuts; now is not even crickets chirping, we had no idea what was going on.

From Vesco's Twitter:

@teamvesco: #Turbinator 2 ran a second time at 247 mph. Hit a coursse marker causing minor body damage. Will work on fuel pressure issue for next meet

I have followed this thread all week long and have thoroughly enjoyed it.  Many thanks to Ray and everyone
else that posted photos and times.  I was fortunate enough to be out on the salt Saturday for the opening ceremonies and first day of racing.
I have spent the last several years and many long hours pulling a drag to groom the tracks.  In my experience there is very little that can be done with a drag beyond knocking down the pressure ridges and
smoothing the racing surface (a little).  It is amazing how different the salt can be from year to year.  In looking at the tracks and the pits this year it does seem to me that the salt put down by the pumping project appeared to stay on the surface this year and not blend or mix with the existing salt.  My personal opinion is that the rains just prior to Speed Week had alot to do with that.  When they made their first
dragging efforts in June the surface was bonded and hard. I feel like the rains tend to disolve the new salt
first and bring it to the top.  This is just my opinion, no scientific facts to back any of it up.
