Not much happening here except that Speed Demon just ran with a 448.642 exit speed.  They may get a record yet.

Seems like we have several speed reporters.  Kool!  I won't worry about it, then.

Congrats to Speed Demon (car #7151) on course no. 1, they just did 3mile= 355.04 4=403.97 5= 436.146mph and exit speed of 448.942 so it was still accelerating and got good traction, so they will make they backup pass in the morning, good driving George and congratulations

PS folks I think this is with the small "D" (305 ci) engine, amazing!!!

I could be mistaken but I think they are running in b-class with a 388 motor. Maybe Ray can correct me if I am wrong.

car 7800 going after Al Teagues record.  2 1/4-290, 3-299, chute out.  They said that is sounded like he was in and out of the throttle and that it might have missed a gear?

I think when Speed Demon ran as car #715 when they had a "B" engine in it, but I think they did blow that motor, then put the "D" engine in and changed the car to #7151.  :?

I think you're right, Mark.  I just heard that they'd cooked a coupla pistons in the B motor, but took it apart and replaced 'em.

Ya Ray. Plus I think they had another extra b-motor with them. Like I said, I could be mistaken, which I am a lot of times. Some thing about getting old.
P.S. I think they took the D-motor out after they made a couple of runs on it.

it is reported that the 636 Camaro is back in impound---if so that is 2 down and one to go for the BC team---do I see a class change in the works---if it's  ProCharger blow through  BBC is still healthy.

Morning all!
I just got home, had to come home to go to work but had a good time all things considered.

I had a close up view of both the Johnny Hotnuts and the Amo-Steele incidents. Both drivers are very lucky that the safety equipment the SCTA insists on did its job.
So glad to hear Johnny and Stainless are ok, I was really worried when I saw the situations unfold.

I personally embargo all crash related pictures except for the car owners and the technical staff from the SCTA, those crash images have already been passed on to the SCTA for their evaluation.

The following picture of the Amo-Steel streamliner was taken almost exactly 2 seconds before the car got sideways.

From my vantage point viewing the car directly from the side I saw no hint of a problem right up until the last moment, it seemed to be running "hot straight and true" as the old navy guys used to say about a torpedo.

It happened very fast and stainless got the chute out as quickly as any human could be expected to react when things went south.

If you guys want copies of the crash images let me know by PM and I will get you full resolution images for your analysis.

Larry
