Here are some speed shots done a little earlier...I've been runnin back and forth between the camera and the computer and it's takin longer than...well, it's just takin longer.

That Studebaker truck (#898) is bitchin'...this whole thing is a conspiracy to make me spend more money on my car...  :-D

As I recall, there was a lot of pre-planning before Norris Anderson decided on what truck to build.  He chose that Stude cuz it was slipperier than any other truck in that class...and 622" of Chevy big block doesn't hurt, either.

Speed Demon just ran...apparently with a motor/class change: D/BFS.  He ran thru the 4 with an exit speed of 384.  I dunno if he qualified or not.

Well, here I sit in the line for inspection - finally.  I fiddled about most of the day yesterday - 'til noon, then had to set up for salt talks.  So this morning I got the final brackets for the bodywork fabbed and installed and mounted everything - and then the cousin and her family showed up.  So when I eventually got the bike a;l buttoned up and down here for inspection -- the first thing the inspector wanted was to have the tail section removed.  Crap - it took me quite a while to get that on there just right.  So -- before I went to the pit to take it off (didn't want to do that in the line -- would waste other people'e time - I made sure he saw and noted the bike with tail section -- so he didn't then ask us to show it WITH the tail.

But then, before I left this line -- he pointed out that the rules require a bike in gas class to have ALL of the nitrous system removed - not just the bottle.  No way in heck am I gonna remove the lines and solenoids and so on -- so what the heck, I'm now in a fuel class.

Ooops -- line is moving.  Later --

Another announcement that the 200mph club dinner was open to the public as long as you buy a ticket.  Has the dinner changed or are they hurting for money?  Every time I have gone the banquet room is full. :?

Thanks again for all the info  ,between the audio, pics and comments its just great coverage

Only thing i would ask if it is practical and can be passed on is at the audio , can there be a background radio or just racetrack track sound or something, so i know when the coverage has dropped out and can refresh , the occasional paper shuffling and mic bumps now actually helps

If I see him, I'll ask, but there are a hell of a lotta people here.
