I was looking at the pictures that WOODY@DDLLC took and wondered if some one could tell who's car this is?

The car is Burton Brown's. He brought the Miller Welders to the salt. [Be sure to thank the Miller guy in Burton's post!] The engine is a one-off four banger. Go back and count the velocity stacks!  :-o Burton wants to run several engines in the liner. First is the four banger! We had a trans-axle to use but could not get things to jive with all the other configurations that will be tried. So we put the engine where it is and ran two belt drives to the desired drive axle position. This is the odd-duck and everything else will be more conventional. Just seeing if youse guys are paying attention.  :-D

The engine bent some valves just before leaving or it would have made some passes. Hope to run it at ECTA in September and maybe World Finals! Just proves you really have to want to do this!

That 4 banger has "8" velocity stacks? Whats up, are they running a separate port for each valve?

The shower head injectors look nice, fine work.

Johnnie, we can't get anything past you guys!  :-D One port for swirl and one for tumble!

Ted Wenz at Savannah Race Engineering built the engine and if you go to the bottom of the photos you will see the dual swirl designer John Stowe and his baby. John wrote two articles for Race Engine Technology on his creation. 2.0L should be close to 400 HP NA on pump gas!  :-o

Yep--Burton`s car will be a good one. Was lucky to be able to bounce some ideas around with him and Sid and get the lay of the land there.

I get up pretty early in the morning and go to bed late. So if your going to get something past me, you'd better hide it better than that.

That said, I think its "COOL", lot of work, but "VERY COOL".

Great shots including Scott holding the axle of the 422 while I remove the cover, the injector hat, and Charlie getting that last shut eye before the run.......JD

Photos from SW 2013 are on my web server: http://www.chevyasylum.com/lsr/bsf2013/01-sw/Welcome.html

There are 4 sections: Quick Pix, The rest, Bad Manners and Rods & Kustoms.  The section names are pretty self explanatory, although I'll mention that the Bad Manners section was prompted by the abysmal shooting etiquette (lack thereof) at the starting lines, especially in the wake of HotRod (Larry)'s post here about the aforementioned subject.  Simply put, it was a whore's nightmare.  I'm gonna continue the rant in that Larry's thread, but you can see some pretty good examples here.

Hope you enjoy 'em,

Nice photos, Ray. Maybe we need "Course Marshalls" to enforce the do-not-cross lines.

Ray:

Great pix!  I'll see you in Tech at WoS, and I hereby challenge you to a new car 130MPH Club shootout there!  We'll have to do it on some kind of "Index of Performance", so as to give my little 2.0 4-banger econo-box a chance against your Camaro, though.
