Rookie orientation and mandatory 9am Saturday meeting
« on: August 07, 2013, 12:58:52 AM »
The Speedweek info says mandatory driver-crew meeting at 9am Saturday, and rookie orientation after that, and then rookie orientation at 11:30 each day thereafter.

My question: I am having trouble getting there by Saturday and would miss the 9am Saturday mandatory meeting.  Is there a problem if I get there on Sunday, or perhaps Monday, and then just go to the 11:30 rookie orientation, or does everyone have to be there Saturday 9am, and if not there, cannot run all week?

Thanks,

Jeff

No, you won't be chased home if you aren't there for the drivers meeting.  Just check in with Nathan or another official when you do get the and can do the rookie orientation.  I expect everything else you'll need - miss from the driver meeting - will be available from the rookie meeting.

Can one participate in the rookie orientation even if I won't be there with my car until World Finals in October?  I'd love to get the head start, even if I have to repeat the process in October....

Thanks for the info.  Nathan ran me, my crew, and about 25 others through the drill on Monday morning.

Thanks again (and to Nathan).

Reading the booklet attached to this link may be useful too.
