Donna Timney Update
« on: July 10, 2013, 07:11:07 PM »
Hello from the Timney Surgery & Recovery Center. We finished up on Donna's repairs this afternoon. She now has a plate with 8 screws in her right wrist. I was conflicted on whether to use Metric or American threads since she rides Harleys and Metric bikes. I decided to use 5 metric screws in the joint and 3 American screws to attach the plate to the bone. She is resting through the miracle of a nerve block and chemistry (drugs)!!! Her left hand and wrist have a broken bones but the Doctor is going to wait two weeks to evaluate if anything really needs to be done. She is absolutely overwelmed with the outpouring of calls, e-mails, internet messages and cards. All of you mean the world to her. Thanks you all from the bottom of our hearts!!!

Metric and standard threads that means your going to need two different wrenches this is confusing. Hope your using titanium hardware to keep the weight down. Joe glad to hear things are progressing but man this sounds painful. 180 MPH to the half mile that a fast ride!  :-)
Working in the shop I use the 'F' word a lot. No not that word these words Focus and Finish go Fast and Flathead Ford!

Heal quickly Donna. Joe will have to look out now that Donna is truly heavy handed.

Can you visualize her having to strip at the airport security.

English and Metric will sure confuse them.

I'm happy that she didn't have any shoulder damage.

Can you imagine not being able to hold your hands above

your head in that revolving human stripper with a

towel head screaming at her to raise your hands?

Thank God and good luck she is OK, both of you are still in our thoughts and prayers.

Joe, she is really lucky she doesn't ride old English bikes... finding Whitworth titanium fasteners is next to impossible and you would still be waiting on Sparky's Brown Santa for delivery

Donna get better sooner...

Debbie and I were in the lanes joking and laughing about “girls” bikes versus “boys” bikes. I told Deb that ‘girls” bikes are just too damn FAST and that is why boys won’t ride them!!!! I certainly don’t have the nerve! It takes a special type of person to throw a leg over. You are a special person, in or out of your riding leathers.

We are so thankful that you came thru this relatively unscathed. Rest and heal.

Donna is doing very well. She returned to work on Monday...she works from home so nobody gets to see all the bruises. Her typing is slow ( not as slow as mine ) since both hands have broken bones. We see the surgeon on Friday and hopefully he will allow a removable brace for her right hand. Donna started to laugh at me last night when I asked her to endorse a check...her signature was still better than my forgery!!!  Thanks for all the calls. messages, flowers and cards...they mean a ton to us!
