I-95 North Detour exit 276 to 286
« on: July 10, 2013, 04:23:44 PM »
Received info today form head Tech inspector Steve that the detour North I-95 that is closed between exits 276 and 286 is only 40 miles long. So a little longer ride following the 95 North detour signs.
Working in the shop I use the 'F' word a lot. No not that word these words Focus and Finish go Fast and Flathead Ford!

What?  Those folks must really want you to see the countryside.  A ten-mile stretch of interstate highway is closed -- so you have to drive 40 miles around it?  Holey Moley , that's a big-azz detour.  And no doubt it'll be posted at lower speeds than the freeway and there's be plenty of gendarmes on patrol for speeders and drunks.

Drive carefully, friends. :-)

Just went through the detoured area.  Very easy, well marked detours...added just under 15 minutes to the ride.  Going from 75 mph on I95 down to 25mph was a jolt though.  It went up to 55mph and back down to 25mph...pretty bumpy roads also.

it's no big deal. I doubt very much that it's 40 miles.
maybe 14 or so miles.
