Cap'n - yes, it's a "normally closed" solenoid. There is no fuel flow if it's not receiving 12V to the solenoid, which is mounted directly on the injection pump.
I will be using a low pressure electric fuel pump to supply approximately 5 psi of fuel to the injection pump. The factory doesn't use this arrangement, but I'm going to.
I'll ask the SCTA official is the OEM solenoid is sufficient to meet the requirements of the rule.
That's what I get for thinking. I was thinking that they would want to see something like the equivalent of a battery shut-off switch, but for the fuel flow.
