Trent, even with that Amy smoked the tires at the drag strip last night for about an 1/8 mile. we were doing some shake down runs getting ready for Ohio in july. She's not used to wheel spin so when she grabbed second gear they lit up and she didn't let off. That's my girl. :-D

Had a good trip to wilmington. Amy ran 155, 158 then 159.34 and we changed classes and the new AA/GALT record. Last year we did 144.00. Amazing what happens when you put the car on a dyno and find 100hp. Properly adjusted rockers on cyl. #5 helps. Also Hepled get Angela Brenner her licensing passes and she topped out at 159.02. I recon the car is consistant. sunday was a wash. Timing lights took a poo the the rain came.
More hoursepower and areo on tap for next year. headed to 175.00

Nope, we be poor racing folk. Wilminton = 1500 round trip. SW = 10,000 approx from the east coast. Besides,  our car has ECTA stickers on ;/. Need to catch up on your stuff.

Amazing what happens when you put the car on a dyno and find 100hp.

That would be like me finding another engine in the trunk.  :-D

And I'll bet the car was a lot easier to drive, too!

Congrats, Amy, on that license uptick, and kudos to Frank - you've bolted together a GOOD one!

Right on Frank! The car sounds very consistent. I'm sure the new wheels helped with some of that.

Just got my latest issue of Bonneville Racing News and wanted to share for those who do not subscribe.
Wendy put in many pics with captions from the July Wilmington meet and she included one of Amy and Frank's 9281.

Here is a scan I did and emailed to Amy and Frank and wanted to share with everyone else.

Great going guys and see you next year!

Gregg

Thanks Gregg, we'll be working with Mike Maty this year to get both of the girls up to around 175. Chages will include dropping in Mikes 383, rerouting the headers for ground clearance, air dam work and some more suspension work to get in the weeds. The photo shows the car sitting a bit high so down it goes. Give us a holla if we can come up and give you a hand with your little truck.

Hi all still here hovering on everyones builds, commenting when I have something half way intelligent to add. Everyone knows the drill, work /life then racing. The weather finally cleared and warmed up and I've been working on the car when daylight permits. Lots of changes this year to help get the girls to our new goals. We are still working with Mike Maty and Angela Brenne this year. Planning on dropping Mikes 383 in the camaro for some hp infusion. We will be running gas and fuel (nitros). Top speeds and records are great but we are getting into speeds that the Amy and Angela aren't use to so seat time is the rule for our first meet in june at the mile. I'll be  adding more Posts with pics soon.

Thanks Mike. We've been at it for 7 years now. Started with Amy's Kia Spectra, the little red Kia that could, It was bone stock but got it to 116.xx mph. It's been a learning curve. We be getting there.
