Lithium batteries are great, they hold a charge well, and are super light and small. Also expensive. For asphalt events, it's a good way to shave pounds and space. For Bonneville, I'd spend the money elsewhere.

Well, unhm, is that a word that's used in batteries today -- or is one of them used in spaceships to make getting from planet to planet easier?  Sure would be nice:

"Engine room, this is the Captain.  We're heading towards Alpha Centauri and need to get there quick!  Hook up another few of our 20 k gravity batteries and open 'em up wide open!"

Yea, I think all of the lithiums require the different charger. Just more concerned about how they hold up over time. My bike is hard on batteries to say the least. I like the added capacity I will get in a smaller package..hmmm..  Its only money, right?

I like the different choices they have for different applications.  Boy, for $289, that thing better be flawless and last for years!

there's a new lithium battery out with internal circuitry allowing you to run a standard charger.

starts with EX something or other. will try and find a brochure or will google it later.
big bucks like the others but sounds like a step above.

Bill, I would be interested in hearing about that. The good news is my bike is mag fired so I only need the battery to run the nitrous solinoids , A/F gauge and the fuel pump so I dont need a big one, so the cost is....uh, better. LOL

Right now the battery I have is only a 3AH and 35CCA, and works, but not great. The smallest Antigravity blows that one out of the water.

hope to be home late Saturday.

I went to the latest version of the Ballistic Battery.  I had some issues with eariler models and they replaced them for free.  The one in the ZX-10R has been there for 3 years.  As long as you choose the correct cell size the ballistic now seems to perform perfectly.
2006 Kawasaki ZX-6rr (Worlds Fastest standing mile and 1.5 mile)
2008 Kawasaki ZX-10R (4 200 MPH Clubs)
2008 Kawasaki EX-250R (Multiple ECTA and LTA records)
131 Land Speed Records set since 2008
125 Land Speed Racing records (including 3 Worlds Fastest Speeds) set since 2008.

Hi - unrelated question: I have a fender eliminator kit (including turn signals and all hardware, electrical butt connectors, etc.) that I received by mistake by motorcycle-superstore.com.  I don't need it since it's made for a ZX-10R and it won't fit my busa.  Would you be interested in it?  I don't want any money for it; I just don't want to throw it away if someone could use it.

Thanks for the insight Greg. After reading what seemed like endless pages on batteries I went with a Shorai Lithium and the matching charger. 14AH should give me all the juice I need....well I hope anyways!
