If you want some extra confusion, VW uses "oil squirters" on many of their turbo engines. There are 2 main styles, the early 1.6 TurboDiesel squirters, which require 2 holes (1 for mounting, 1 for oil flow), and the later 1.8Turbo gasser engines, which use a banjo bolt for attachment and oil flow.
All of them are designed with internal spring loaded check valve / popoffs. They will not squirt below a certain oil pressure.
