It’s looking promising, guys!  So far, we’re up to 16 pledges to the site, and I’d like to acknowledge -
Sparky – (US) (I think he’s got a pool going)
Lsrjunkie – (US)
Dr. Goggles – (AUS)
38 Flattie –(US)
Dean Los Angeles – (hmmm . . . I suppose that’s about as US as Milwaukee, so we’ll put you down on the US team)

So we’re at 16 as of this morning – dyno day is tomorrow.  If everything goes perfect, four more might get us to the $2,000.00 goal I’ve set for this, but I want to pad it a bit.

And you don’t have to match the high rollers – consider 4 bits a pony – Jon will certainly be pleased with any and all contributions to the site.

So we have no Canadian contributors, or Kiwis?  No French contributors?  NO BRIT CONTRIBUTORS?!?!?!

Let’s see if we can get 6 or 7 more pledges to Landracing.com by 8:00 AM Central Daylight Time on May  9, 2013.

Thanks to ALL!

Chris

Remember, we made the original "Grenade" sticker that's on Chris's engine.  And we could make shirts displaying that, too.  Maybe they'd be cool little mementos of the event (when the engine is on the dyno, not when the engine blows to kingdom come).

Chris, what do you think?  Should we award "Grenade" shirts to those kind folks that donate money to the site in re: the engine dyno session?  We'd need sizes and addresses of each of the "winners", of course.  Let me know and we'll get on it.

I'm a car guy with twin toddlers, but for as much time I spend
on LR, I'm in for 4 bits ($.050) per HP up to 95, $1/hp over 95.

And I would love a "grenade shirt" and/or a black LR sticker...

Well, maybe not.  The process e use to make shirts is called dye sublimation -- and the color of the shirt is the background of what we print.  Ergo - white is best, light grey second, and so on to darker and darker colors.  e can't print anything (that's visible, at least) on black shirts.

The landracing.com stickers are either white with black & red text (circular, about 3" dia. or so), or blue with white text (bumper sticker size).

Since we'll do this as part of Chris's kind offer to make it a fundraiser for the site - I'd like to keep costs down.  And that means us doing the shirts, not sending them out to have someone silk screen them or something.  I hope it all works out.  I will check a local silk screen shop, though -- 'cause we're starting to work with him and might get a great price if I have Nancy beg a little bit.

I'll donate regardless, light gray is great for a shirt anyways- everyone
has 10x more black or white racing shirts than any other color...

Jon, you may incentivize this little side show in any way you see fit, but let's see if we can keep it glued together before you place an order with Hanes.

Fordboy, Wisdonm and I will be working on the variable tomorrow – it’s up to you guys to up the constant!

Shazaam!

Tack on another $100.00, Jon – My mom and dad, Pat and Frank Conrad, just mailed me a check.  They made it out to me, and after the festivities and or condolences, I’ll get it cashed and PayPal it to you early next week, along with a buck a pony from me.

So now there’s no backing out – Parental pressure and all . . .  :-D

8:00 AM CDT, May 9th, and we’ll be cutting this off – pony up now, boys and girls!

Whew . . .

Okay, let’s conclude the Dynothon.

We came up short of our goal, which would have been a minimum of 93 hp, at which point we landracing.com would have been able to collect on all pledges made by the friendly folks here.  Thanks to all for your participation.  We enjoyed the push, and the push will continue, because there is more to be had from this combination.

At the end of the day, and running into a noise ordinance curfew imposed on T&T in the municipality of Gurnee, Illinois, our best pull clocked in at 88.2.  Given more time – which I will coordinate with Tom, Mark, Don and T&T, I am certain we will be able to best that.

But for the purposes of the Dynothon – your multiplier is 88.2.

We have reams of data to comb through – 15 complete and incomplete pulls, tuning notes and recollections that Mark and I need to coordinate, but we all agree that we left horsepower on the table – and we’re going back to get it.  In fact, I didn’t even bring the engine home – it’s on a dyno cart, waiting for our return

I’ll have a complete breakdown on the day over on the Milwaukee Midget build diary at some time that I can bend my mind around it.  But once we got a working carb on this thing, we were making jet changes and ignition changes at a break-neck pace.  It was 7 hours of maddening tedium followed by a geyser of useful data.

The fun has just begun.

Again, THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED!
Slim – expect some checks in the mail!

Everybody else - PONY UP!

Sincerely,

Chris Conrad

SSS-
Can I shoot you the $41.50 through PayPal, or
would you prefer a check? Either way is a-okay.
