Rules question
« on: April 29, 2013, 07:11:34 PM »
We are getting ready to register for June, but we have a question that needs to be answered.  MPS  versus M class. Thinking the M class would be for bonefied naked bikes with no fairings or streamlining.  Can anybody tell me if this bike is legit as a naked bike in the M class ?  And what class did bike 9698 get through tech in.
The rear fender showed M/PG - I would think it should be MPS/PG  Here is a picture of the bike -

Thanks Woody - That's the one in question.

Just tryin to follow the book -

Even Stan could tell you the bike is partially streamlined.... and unless it set a record it does not matter what class the owner placed it in.  It could have been teched without the little fairing and that part added to see if it made enough difference to warrant a class change...

That is precisely the question Stainless. The rear fender said M/PG with the fairing on . If it sets a record with that fairing in the stated M class, as shown on the rear fender is it legit ?  Will ECTA recognize it ?  Or - ?

If I copied correct, this is the rear fender markings, with the fairing in place.
Its the picture along with the frontal shot in Woodies Cars & bikes photos.
Just wondering -  We're getting ready to register for June, and don't want to make any last minute mistakes.
We try to follow the book.
Respectfully - running a truly naked in M  Iron Sportster

Thanks Delledra -   It was something that jumped right out at us when seeing the rear fender. Kindly take no offense at our questioning. We simply need to know where everyone is at.  After running a naked class for seven years, when a fairing shows up on an M bike, it tends to raise eyebrows a bit with us till answers come in.
Hope you had some great runs, and accomplished your objectives .
If you are at the June event stop by and say howdy.

What a refreshing way to clear up a situation.

Much better than the usual snipping that happens.
