« on: April 11, 2013, 05:09:22 PM »
Hello,

shaved and very good condition firestone 800x18 that have been stored indoors mounted on milk truck/utility rims. The rims have been welded and reinforced with center mounting pad. Also if you just want the tires I have another good set with tubes to sell as well.

So a "set" is actually a pair?  For $4,000?

have a total of 4 tires will sell for 900.00 each.   the rims do not have to be part of the deal. The rims would be better suited for a street rod nostalgia application.

thanks

At $900.00 per tire is that under or over the normal price of the tires if you where to buy them from firestone.

What to you think Rich... maybe 35 to 40

If you need a 30 inch fast tire, 400 MPH, then 900 is cheap... these tires are actually a bit rare so I would guess whatever the market will bear...  I think Max told me he bought 4 from Al Teague about 15-20 years ago for 900 per tire.  They were ones Al got from Art Arfons.

Like Stainless said they are only worth what someone is willing to pay. If someone is restoring a car and needs those exact tires then Bingo. If you are currently running a car I personally would go with the M/T Tires that are currently available. JMO, it is your arss in the seat.

Just looked online and M/T has 575mph rated tires that are 30in tall for $760.00 each.

In my opinion they are more valuable to a restorer

than they are to a racer. There are current tires that

will allow the speed but if you are a restorer a M/T

isn't a Firestone.

I know the M/T 30s are listed online here and there but I'm not so sure if they are currently available as they are NOT mentioned on the actual M/T web site.

I have 2 for sale that I bought from Larry Volk in 1980 or so. I think $900 may be a good deal. And if you want a 33 inch tire 30 won't do it.
