What is a good portable fan?
« on: April 11, 2013, 02:11:26 AM »
Getting ready for August and need a portable fan. Can anybody recommend a good quality portable fan?  I don’t even know a good brand name anymore. I’m looking for something around 3ft diameter, not those big 4ft-5ft diameter fans. What is the advantage of belt drive vs. direct drive? Quiet is a good thing too.

Searched the archives and surprisingly found nothing. TIA :-)

3 ft... that is a really big fan... we take a small 18 inch one we use for hot lapping cool down.  Don't buy an high dollar one to take to the salt... buy a couple of cheapies... you won't feel as bad when the salt kills it.

Good point about the salt. Was going to use it in the shop also but may need to re-think this. Thanx.
