Rule book received, I noticed Tonya's signature has shortened. On my earlier membership cards we get the whole first name... now we get a "T"

must be writers cramp :-D
Entry sent, and acknowledged, hotel reservations made, Crew appropriated...Now about the truck...does it have any gas? hmmm....

Entry made and confirmed by Tonya, work being done on my truck, made lodging reservations the first of Nov. wrote confirmation number, phone number down on a scribble piece of paper on table by my recliner under the laptop, can't find paper and don't remember the name of the motel!
I checked the weather at Wilmington last weekend, Sat was in the 50's with a 10% chance of rain, only if!

Re: ECTA Season Opener-Rookie Question
« Reply #3 on: March 12, 2013, 01:42:12 PM »
Hi,

I am in the process of signing up for the April meet and I have a question.

This will be my first time in any sort of LSR event. I have participated drag racing and auto-cross for longer than I care to admit.
The car I will be using (93 Corvette or 04 Corvette) is only legal for up to 135mph at the moment.

So, my question is: Should I enter a class (C/GT or C/GSS) or just run Time Only for the first time?

Thanks In Advance,
Tim

the c5 will run 150mph until you are blue in the face.  You will be limited to 135mph. With a harness bar, 5 point harness and the required drivers gear for 150mph you can get a 150mph tech speed. Corvette and viper have an integrated roll structure that the ECTA  counts as a 4 point roll bar for a 150 tech. If you have the required driving gear the harness bar can be had for a few hundred dollars. You must have all 5 points for the harnesses and no z06 seats. The harnesses can NOT run around the outside of the seat. Standard c5 seats have the hole under the head rest for the harnesses to run thru.

Thanks Mike

It just so happens that I have a harness bar and harness from auto-cross
The car has the sport seats so the shoulder harness passes through the seat back

Would you advise running TO my first time or a class ?

If 150mph will break a record run that class. Why not!!!  You must comply with all 150mph tech rules. Read them several times.
