TIC  I wonder how many truckloads of salt they had to haul in to have enough salt to blade with a road grader like they did????
IIRC The state of Utah used to do that for us with their graders. T
But that's when there was salt.

Life is an abrasive. Whether you get ground away or polished to a shine depends on what you are made of.

...

Al's 400.6 mph run was at World of Speed, I think?  Top Time at Speed Week was 393.xxx.

What happened on the return run?  As far I can tell Al did set a couple of records at World of Speed that year, but not using the 400.6 mph run.

And for a bonus point: who else ran over 400 mph in 1990 (wheel-driven)?  :-)

Hey. Hey a half second  clip of my car pushing off. Was great to watch AT running. Well remember working on my car in the Motel 6 parking lot, struggling with something. Al drove in and said Hi, went to the back of his pick up and came back with a tool saying, "maybe this will help." Kind of guy he was.

Don't know about videos, run was in 1991.

In 1990, Al's 389 run was the only one over 300 for the meet. No 400 passes at speedweek. Don't know about WOS.

Didn't Al make something like four passes over 300 (and set two records) at 1990 Speed Week?
