Here's the story, folks, about the annual Gas-Up.  If you can make it -- it's a fine event and lots of the folks you usually don't see until either an event at EM or Bville -- will be there to tell you how fast they're going to go this coming season.  And don't forget that the Hall of Fame is a truly great honor.  I mean, after all -- landracing.com (a/k/a Nancy and I) were inducted last year as the 2012 Historians -- for helping keep this website and Forum going and full of information about land speed racing.

THE 2013 DRY LAKES RACING HALL OF FAME  INDUCTEES HAVE BEEN CHOSEN

Buellton, CA – February 2013 -- The Gold Coast Roadster & Racing Club announces the 20th Anniversary of the Annual Dry Lakes Racing Hall of Fame ‘GAS-UP’ will be held at the Mendenhall Museum of Gasoline Pumps, 24 Zaca Street in Buellton, California on Saturday April 20, 2013.  We are excited about the new spring date and expect an exceptional turn-out as we greet the new racing season.  The event begins at 9:00 am, includes a Santa Maria-style Barbeque lunch followed by the Dry Lakes Racing Hall of Fame induction ceremony and concludes with raffle prizes until 5:00 pm.

Each year the GCR&R Club solicits votes from all 11 SCTA Clubs, current Hall of Fame members, the Bonneville and El Mirage 200 MPH Clubs, USFRA and ECTA to recognize and honor those outstanding individuals who have contributed significantly to the sport of land speed racing on the dry lake beds, past and present – car owners, drivers, builders, manufacturers, sponsors, event volunteers, and the people who preserve the history for everyone. Of equal importance, is to honor outstanding vehicles that have been created by these talented people.

The GCR&R Club wishes to thank everyone who took the time to vote and return their ballot. The 2013 inductees are: Historical Race Vehicle;  Gene Ohly & Harry Mardon Roadster; Presently Running Race Vehicle; Speed Demon; Motorcycle; Cathy & Van Butler’s #859 Honda Motorcycle; People Who Have Contributed; Jim Howe, Wes Potter, Sonny & Dixie Rossi, Tony Waters, Ellen Wilkinson, Rick Yacoucci; People from the Past; Marvin Jenkins, Frank Lockhart, Frank Oddo, Fred C. Offenhauser, Bob Opperman, Jay Roach ; Manufacturer; Jesel Products; Historian; Bill Hoddinott.

Dry Lakes Racers, Hot-Rodders and other interested enthusiasts inclined to bench race with famous and infamous racers are invited to attend this entertaining and memorable event.  Registration forms will be mailed in March, including a map and hotel listings, so be sure you are on the mailing list with your current address.  Photos of past events and a list of all Hall of Fame Members are available on the official website www.mendenhallmuseum.com where a registration form may also be printed out and mailed in.  Space has always been limited and veteran attendees know that pre-registration is highly recommended.  Tickets purchased early are $45, (a limited number will be available at the door for $55).

To put your name on the mailing list, correct an address, or for information on how to advertise in the award-winning ‘Keepsake’ program, or to donate raffle prizes please email, call or write the Gold Coast Roadster & Racing Club as listed.
