Chevy S10 land speed truck for sale
« on: January 23, 2013, 06:16:52 PM »
I have an 1988 S-10 CHEVY p.u. THAT HAS BEEN RUN IN THE MINI MODIFIED CLASS. It comes with a log book. It's the std. cab long wheel base model. It has a double hoop roll cage most of the items to make it an easy rebuild to current requirements. It has a 9" Ford diff with 2.90 gears. The hood has a tall Z28 type scoop and the front bumper has a spoiler grafted on. It has after market axles and an auto shifter. It had a powerglide in it. As a 'D' class PU it had a 283 bored .060 (292) with GM camel hump heads and a flat tappet cam and a Victor Jr w/ a 650 Holley. It ran a top speed of 166mph with this mild combo. It has Goodyear front runner tires and Coil over rear shocks. Also modified front end for some caster. The bed has a tin cover over it and in the bed is a fuel cell. This rig would be perfect for 2 or 3 guys to go in on and run at WOS in the 150mph class. A mild 350 would do it. Then you could decide if you wanted to put a 4 speed in it and some big HP's and go class racing. $1500 is all I'm asking. I paid more then that for it so make any trade offers reasonable. The fellow I got it from claims he had $5500 in the truck not counting running gear. I'm in Olympia Wa. and would meet you half way for a fee. George 360 481 3368

I want this.

Consider it sold.
My doctor told me to go out and kill people.
Well, sort of.  He told me to reduce the stress in my life.

George,

Are you at liberty to tell us whose truck this was?

Rats.  I looks like I cannot acquire the S-10.  I think I'm making a big mistake by not getting it, but I got "outvoted".  I ASSumed everything on my end was fine, then got surprised.

I know George has a local buyer as well in the hopper.

 :-(

Just tell the other voter you are getting a good deal on a set of cylinder heads.  Don't say anything about the truck they are attached to.

I was reminded that I've said running a Minitruck in DT class while legal, defeats the spirit of the rules.  They are right.

Someone who isn't as dumb as I am will soon realize that a modern Duramax diesel in a minitruck will go past 250mph on a 166? record.  1000 hp in a minitruck will go pretty fast.

^ If you wanted to do it cheap, there's the truck ^

A stock engine will put it to 200mph and a redhat.

This truck is still for sale.    Easy and inexpensive way to go LSRing. World of speed 150 club allows up to 159.9 mph. That would give you a good idea if you wanted to buy one of Tom's D Buick engines and go fast.

Great example here of why it's nice to fill in the profile completely - including your LOCATION!  We'd know where racergeo is located if he'd been so kind, wouldn't we?

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine. However, this is not necessarily a good idea. It is hard to be sure where they are going to land, and it could be dangerous sitting under them as they fly overhead. -- RFC 1925

My point is that if the profile information blank for location had been filled in properly -- there'd be no need to mention his location in any specific post, and it'd be clear to all -- no digging back required.   :-D :-D
