So... Can I count my bike builder in?  :-D
I used to be called "Mike Miracles" at the gym a long time ago. Miracles do happen and if my project gets delayed this August I might just find my way to some hot and salty race track on the other side of the world. I'd be honoured to crew for ya. :cheers:

Lifelong friendships have been initiated by picking up crew members.  Every year we get a comment about bringing a vehicle from a long distance without a crew -- never been a problem that I've heard of.

Thanks Mike! I don't know a lot about crew members, but I have made a few good friends already, thanks to this forum!

Not too much to report this evening. Just hammering away at the floor and firewall. Driver side is going to be a bit tricky thanks to the fact that the trans and shift linkage now lives next to me as opposed to under the car. Already had to change my clutch operation (or should I say actuation)due to that! Hoping to have a majority of the floor and firewall done in a couple more days. Gusset up the cage a bit more, and if all goes well, begin putting the roof back on the car next week!

For the record, if there's a filthy rich, fabricator, car nut interested in a partnership for a race car let me know... Naahh, scratch that! I couldn't live with somebody else tinkering with my "Hank"!

Naahh, scratch that! I couldn't live with somebody else tinkering with my "Hank"!  :evil: :-D  Are you sure that statement came out as intended?. Joe, you're a funny guy. A couple of the members got me going on gussets and I've got about 30 left to do. Cutting triangles gets a bit old after a while but you just have to keep going.

Have a look at A & A Manufacturing-- they make stamped steel gussets as well as lots of other race car fabrication parts.

Thanks for the info Neil!  :cheers: Well Mike, I guess it depends on who's doing the tinkering!  :evil:

A&A does not have the size cage gussets that we use for the SCTA. Someone here asked them about making legal saddle gussets and they said no, not able to.

the Coleman machine catalog has a lot of gussets and brackets.
not sure if they would be legal for your applications.

T-Man;

You are right that A & A doesn't have gussets large enough for the required roll cage gussets but they have lots of other size gussets, brackets, etc. Their catalog is free.

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine. However, this is not necessarily a good idea. It is hard to be sure where they are going to land, and it could be dangerous sitting under them as they fly overhead. -- RFC 1925

You can't make a race horse out of a pig. But if you work hard enough at it you can make a mighty fast pig. - Bob Akin

Yes, I should have added that everyone should have their catalog regardless!

A&A has a wealth of brackets,mounts, yokes,rod end clevises. If your building a car from scratch their catalog is invaluable.
