I have all kinds of volunteers, but we'll see how serious they are when the time comes. I bet I could make some room for a bike builder from South Africa though!

What I really need is a few more hours in the day! August is not very far away!

Thanks Capt!   I was hoping somebody smarter than me would figure out how to do that. I felt like I was a little short in the department, but wasn't too sure where to add any more gussets. Kind of the "you can't see the forest for the trees" scenario.

I looked for other photos to help show other "opportunities" on your cage, I could send some photos of our gusset fest if you think that might help. Mr. Turk inspected our cage at the first Ohio race and thought we did a real good job.

That seems to always be the case, lots of volunteers initially and then when the actual time comes, they all seem to vanish. Everybody wants to bask in the glory but not put in the time and effort when it really counts lol. Had the same scenario at times when i was running my drag cars.

Lots of progress being made, keep up the great work.

First off, cool build.  Personally, I'd like to see those spindle mounts put back on.  They looked bitchin' on there.

Second, I'm glad that our discussion about gussets has been picked up and carried over to other builds.  A testament to the usefullness of this site.

Jerry's build is documented on his diyautotune site:

Here is a pretty neat youtube video as well:

This came from the Gusset thread in the Technical Discussion section:

Far as the Gussets & the cage go look at it this way you can't be too safe, as the Arse you save just might be your Own

Nate, that is the cool thing about using these boards as well as it also building "community". I will never understand the naysayers that won't participate in the online forums. When we are all standing on the salt you can tell who the crackpots are that you steer clear of anyway! :-D

I agree! I was never a big forum guy, but the land racing community is amazing! With out the help of numerous members I would still be scratching my head instead of building a car!

Joe, we always have 9-10 crew members, and a half dozen guys hanging around. If you run short, holler-we won't let you not run because of a lack of crew!

Thanks Buddy!! I suspect yer rig is a bit more technically involved than mine.  :-D If the guys on the salt are anything like they are on this forum, I think a lack of help will be my last problem!

It's amazing! You have no idea how helpful everyone is, until something breaks-then help seems to come from everywhere!
