Mine is a "Post" 5 inch.  Cheap Japanese but works well.  My 10" was German.  Forget the name, but was $$.
My doctor told me to go out and kill people.
Well, sort of.  He told me to reduce the stress in my life.

I was thinking about using binary numbers on our #439 bike, but there's not room on it for numbers at least 5" high and an inch wide - - it we've got to display 110110111.  I expect it'd make it difficult for the starters to read off to the tower, too. :lol:

There are 10 kinds of people, those who understand binary numbers and those who don't.
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

Jim, maybe Morse code is different from the "international" code that hams use.  I say that because I see v w n.  Huh? :?

Jon;

Yes, Morse code is different from International Morse code. Morse was the old code that was used by telegraphers over wire circuits that use sounders making key clicks. When radio came about those key clicks didn't work very well so Morse code was modified to better use dit-dah symbols. This became "International" Morse code, a modified Morse Code.

Neil, I knew that.  But many folks - including lots of hams - - don't know there's a difference.  The phrase "morse code" is taken as a generic, it seems, for what we use on the amateur bands.  I just like showing off that I do know there's a difference.

Jon, WA8GDW since November of '62 (well, was WN8GDW for the first six or eight of those months).

I knew that you knew that, Jon. Most people don't, though.
