Not exactly LSR but it could be a racing team logo. My daughter sells hair care products. This is the logo of one of her customers. The original image is 1/2" on a business card.
The plaque 1/2"x18"x24" aluminum. The image is raised .150" above the background. They liked it.

The plaque look nice. Was that straightforward 3-axis CNC milling?

Almost. I scan the image from the business card into the cad/cam software. Then trace it to create lines and arcs and resize. Then a feature called embossing creates a 3D image to my specks and toolpath is created from that. There is 52 hours of spindle run time in this plaque. Enjoyed every minute of it.

So, you were drinking Foster's while watching cartoons as your CNC was cutting chips for 52 hours? Is that about right, Terry?

I have decided to stop doing machining for racers. The CRS is getting bad and I don't want to make a part that hurts someone or something. Standing at the 5 when my wheels go thru the lights at 420 mph, making hubs for Sparky that were on the first unblown gas lakester over 300 are going to be some of the last things to go. Thanks to all that viewed the site.
