Merlin III BBC cam bearings
« on: October 20, 2012, 02:09:59 PM »
Got myself in a jam down here in Arizona :?  I discovered the cam bearings in this tall deck Merlin III are not standard Chevy BB. They are .010 over on the OD. Front- 2.150, #2-2.140, #3-2.130, #4-2.130 and #5-2.140. Had some DuraBond CH-12's but they fell right through. Can't find any references to size on the net, guess I'll have to call Mitchell on Monday. btw Mitchells ads says the merlin III uses standard BBC cam bearings.    -not on mine they don't!

I guess I'm discussing this with myself since there were no replies. But I did resolve the cam bearing problem. After talking to everyone I could think of who might know about cam bearings, I ordered individual bearings (no set exists) from Durabond-should have them today.
