Got some more done today...
Got door X all welded up on the bench, and some of the last major bars in place..

Also got the dash metal flattened and reinforced so I can tie that area into the dash bar on final install

Got most of the inside frame cleaned off and ready for welding etc. later on

Chris, We know for sure you don't spend time at the Mall! :-D

You're on a mission. It looks like it's almost done, well the major stuff.

The cage is beautiful.

Thanks, yeah, I get kinda focused...
Was just a little perturbed at having to go weld outside etc. all afternoon/evening yesterday when I was on such a roll inside, in the warm.
I agree, the cage is about 90% done, and about 65% welded I'm happy to say. The hard part now is gong to be welding it in, and then putting the roof back on.
Hoping to have it wrapped in 2 weeks or less. The work behind this is starting to pile up...

Meetings all morning then a long lunch ate up a bunch of the day....
But got some more welding done, then threw it back in to start the seat mounts, harness attachments, etc.

WOW  :-o - you are really "Getting R Done".  The cage work looks fantastic, as does the flattened dash and the rest of the prep work on the body/chassis.

PS - that looks like a very stout piece of steel or iron holding your seat in place.  Can I guess????  It looks to me like a section cut from a heavy walled roll body (like a steel mill work roll shell, something like that), or possibly cut from a centrifugally cast steel mill coiler "pinch" roll?

Just guessing.

I am struggling to find a place that can buy the Eagle Landspeed tires I need for the car. I have tried local shops, the good year supplied for canada on their website, and have had no luck. Does anyone know of a vendor who can get them?

When we were looking a couple months back I was told that they should be available come spring, but who knows for sure.  I called all the US distributors at the time....

...Shelby is the major.  Hooley and I have bought tires from Carter-Maxwell in Oklahoma City before but they were also out at the time.  We finally found them on here and right now there are some listed in the 'for sale' section on the site.

Good luck,

Sum

Shelby says that Goodyear has a plan to manufacture a batch sometime in December.

Thank-you sir! More updates next week. A family illness and the holidays have kept me away.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

That Cage looks like you could shove it off of Mt Everest and it would still be intact.
