Need to Borrow(?) Tires for Ohio mile!
« on: September 01, 2012, 06:18:03 PM »
We's like to try the Ohio mile next month, before we tear the car and engine down for a redo.

Our salt tires are not legal in ECTA, so I would need tires. I run 27" or 28" on the rear, and 22" or 23" om the front.

Does anyone have a legal set they would be willing to loan/rent/sell cheap?
With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine. However, this is not necessarily a good idea. It is hard to be sure where they are going to land, and it could be dangerous sitting under them as they fly overhead. -- RFC 1925

A good choice might be Kumho (I never know how to spell that) ESCTA's.  They're fairly cheap and are speed rated.  Seems like I paid right at $100/tire but that was a couple of years ago.  I forget what size mine are but they have a fair selection, IIRC.

Buddy, check tirerack.com for Kumho and others! They are a pleasure to deal with! Ask for racer discount?!

I have 4 G force Sports also if needed. They are not mounted and the fronts are 23 the rears are 26 and they go on a 15 inch wheel. They have had two heat cycles. You are welcome to use them, buy them or, what ever. Let me know and I will load them on the trailer. We will be in Wilmington on Thursday afternoon.

Thanks everyone!

Stan Back pointed out the frontrunners I have should work for the front, so I'll really just need the rears.

Charles or Bob, if I could talk one of you into throwing a set of 26"'s on when you come, I could settle up with you at the track!

I sure appreciate the help!

Thanks everyone!

I'll be home on the 21st, and will measure to see how wide I can go, and with what offset.

I should have thought of going to the Ohio mile, before I travelled 1700 miles from the car for work!

I have a pair of Michelin Pilot Sport 225/60ZR16. Diameter is 26.6".
Revs per mile 782. These tires were professionally shaved and are mounted on 16" steel wheels. They have very few runs on them. I will bring to Ohio and will consider any reasonable offer.
