DT Rules:
« on: August 28, 2012, 05:30:34 PM »
Am I allowed to run a vertical stack exhaust in the bed?

Who controls what Vegetable Oil is?

Do I have to run a factory frame and body?

Must it be a diesel truck?

Can I cover radiator inlets?

Is nitrous forbidden?

Is switching noses from a different body legal?

Does it have to be a diesel truck?

Are ship or large generator set engines permitted in DT class?

Thanks,

PatMc

I'm being a priick.

It costs dozens of man hours and thousands of dollars to comply with the rulebook.  2 guys working in my garage.  Pit crew included kids and my wife.

Should I ignore it since it's not a 1932 Ford running off race gas?

Laugh is on them.  We went over 200mph in a street legal, smog legal full-size 4x4 diesel truck, sold as a diesel, without changing noses, or blocking the radiator, or running a stack, or running nitrous or propane.  Just pump fuel from the truck stop.

Wifey showed me pics from 2012 Speed Week DT entries.  I should not have looked.  My bad.

I'll crawl back in my cave.

Any pics to share?  I'm interested to see what the #8217 vehicle was.

I keep trying to stop reading the board, so I kill my user in the hope it will work.  Kinda like quiting smoking.  If they are there, it's too easy to light up again. :-D
McRat/McRatX/PatMc are all Patrick McSwain.  And obviously, it doesn't work.  I need to figure out how to IP ban myself.

To switch from a normal competition vertical exhaust to SCTA DT exhaust alone was $$$$ (5" stainless is not cheap), and it irritated those behind me in line since it takes so long to get up to operating temp.  Sure wish I had that money right now.  It's illegal for all other forms of competition and must be removed even for street use.  Safety = Vertical Stack.  Needless hazard equals bumper or side exhaust.

Seriously, thanks for the flak, I honestly need it to quit.  Like a pack of Mexican smokes will cut back smoking.  Thanks!  Someone mail me some Horsepoop 100's please!

OK, let me figure out the router and get this resolved.  Or if an Admin could just IP ban me, it would make my life easier.

As soon as he changes his screen name to Ratliff or Propster we know he is gone. Try that Pat.

I don't have a rulebook handy (shame on me) - is a thru-bed stack type exhaust prohibited in DT?  I don't remember seeing that, but then again, the mind is a terrible thing.

Not allowed in Modified Pickup which is based on Gas Coupe rules. By extension not allowed in DT which is based on Gas Coupe rules.

How many more sentences do you guys need?

Thank you.  No more sentences required, I just didn't have ready access to the rulebook, and my mind was craving the information.

Looking at pics from SW 2012, and including the reference to veggie oil, I'm guessing it's the #1337 "Greenspeed" C/DT entry that is being called into question.
