Coil Over Shocks
« on: August 27, 2012, 04:46:14 PM »
I have a nice set (4) of three way adjustable Eibach shocks from a Dyatona Prototype car, $1000.  Also available lots of springs 5" x 2" ranging from 350lbs to 1700lbs in increments of 50lbs  $30 per pair. Tony

Oh man I would be all over those if I had the cash right now. Any way we can work out a payment plan or trade?   I want to build a pushrod suspension for one of my cars and these would work great. Seriously though, good luck with sale

After some digging I can't find out anything about these. I have experienced that sometimes in racing things get labeled as something they are not for the purpose of making sponsors happy. Do you know more about these? Did/does eibach make these or are they penskes or something else with eibach stickers on them? What about parts availability?

These shocks were built by Eibach in Germany for the Dallara Daytona Prototype chassis and were also used on some DTM  and Indy cars with the earlier double adjustable shocks used on IRL cars.  In  an effort keep costs down in Grand Am they were not approved for competition and currently  rule 7.4 for Daytona Prototype cars only allow the use of Dynamic Suspension DSSV shocks or Penske 8760 shocks.  They are very similar to Penske shocks and parts do interchange.  The free length on two of the shocks are 13 1/2" eye to eye and the other two are 15".  Tony

Let me know if you want me to delete the thread, Tony.  Because of the information on the shocks -- I won't nuke things 'til you say to do so.
