Yes and it should have the motor plate and be SFI approved.

3.O...flywheel shield....providing 360 deg. coverage... (SFI approved is not an absolute.  No mention of a motorplate that I can see  )

IIRC, you can armor the floor of the car with 1/4" steel.  Could be wrong, but seems I remember that being an option if SFI stuff doesn't exist.

Well then page 36 3.0 pretty much spells it out with the 360 degree requirement.

And safety minded, build a good and well mounted 360 deg. scatter shield.

Flatman, what I did on my Old's motor is made it in three pieces: a flat "motorplate" that goes between the stock belhousing and the transmission (and used a longer pilot bushing in the end of the crank), and a two piece "clamshell" (top/bot) which bolts to the plate and also horizontally to the other half (with a opening for the clutch fork), and butts up to the back of the block and oil pan (the Early Old's have a cast in place belhousing that is part of the block).
This is all built out of 1/4" steel plate (legal on motors where no approved steel scatershield is available) and as for the clamshell halves, I made a pattern and took it to a Heavy Metal (Iron or Sheet Metal) shop and they "bumped it into the shape I wanted with the top and bottom flat and horizontal for about eight inches and then rounding 90 degrees at each end.

This is my 2 Piece 1/4 inch plate setup

2 bolt on either side hold it together, Trans Mounting Bolts (extra long) hold it in place.

Thanks
I split an old Lakewood scatershield and redrilled it for the flathead. Ran the record for my class at WOS but threw a blower belt on my back up run.  I may give it another shot at World Finals.
Sorry about my lack of knowledge about the rule book.  You gotta cut us old guys with flatheads some slack.
