Mr. Hotnuts,

sorry i didn't see this sooner -- had a similar problem at a track day w/22lbs blowing hoses.  Some one suggested the old hairspray the grips on motorcycle trick - it worked for me.

Wet hairspray acts as a lubricant, dries to a "glue" - better luck next year.

When (if?) this baby hits 88mph, you'll see some serious poo.

Is it just my computer or have some of the records actually went away on the USFRA wesbite. I thought they had the first 2 days up and now i only see the first days???

No, it's not just you, the second day's list of records is now gone.  I had noticed that both lists were marked "Records Sept. 9, 2012", so maybe they took down the second one to fix that.  But whatever, it's not there anymore.

Now the lists of records for all three days (Sept 9, 10, and 11) are posted.   However, the list of all Tuesday runs still isn't up.

The car sure sounded good when it was between problems and running OK.  You are almost there.

I have heard about the hairspray trick but there were a few connections on the intercooler that were buried so deep that getting to them would of took a good part of a day. Needless to say that gamble didnt pay off!!!!

I am going hardcore on my pipe connections with tension bolts bridging couplers. If I loose a pipe again its because I had enough boost to stretch an 3/16" bolt!!!!!

....and thanks WW!

Ron Ernsberger's Hudson Hornet was my favorite car during this week. All the decoration is hand painted and looks fantastic. And there was a second nice Hornet. Somebody has more information about them ?

I had a stack of probs.....car really loose, air compressor probs (shifter), blowing off turbo hoses (including the one in this run), tach not working (paper on dash is MPH in each gear so I would know where to shift) and about a million other problems.

I am going to make provisions to strap the pipes, a hard lesson learned. Thankfully my new motor was REALLY strong and had no mechanical probs!

Also note the avocado on the dash.....

I found a project on the way home from this years’ World of Speed. Coming through Hagerman, Idaho early in the morning – I saw it (photo 1), the price was right, and………………….hauled ‘er home (photo 2).  It seems at one time this tank was used as a toy airplane, thus the left and right cut-outs for the wing-movement (aileron perhaps), or perhaps it was a ride at a fair.  The tank is made from steel, a little over 6 feet  long  and  25 inches  at its largest diameter.  Now it shall get a small gas engine and some fitting wheels with moon disks  -  this is going to be fun, stay tuned!

It had a BBC ("502 C.I." painted on the side), and it put at least one guy into the USFRA 150MPH Club, with a couple of runs in excess of 150 in "the quarter" (2.00 to 2.25 miles).
