Diesel Engine, set up for LSR.
« on: August 11, 2012, 11:11:35 AM »
This is an "A" displacement Duramax V8 engine from SoCal Diesel (441.5ci).  It is bored and stroked with custom forged Mahle pistons, billet alloy steel stroker crank, steel main caps, Carrillo I beam custom rods, dual piston oilers, balanced and blueprinted, aluminum 4 valve ported heads with high speed valve train with custom solid roller cam.  This engine is superior to the one I ran 197+ mph in a 2500HD 4x4 pickup at Bville with.  This can be tuned up past 1700HP, but needs to be tuned lower for LSR.  It easily makes over 900rwhp through an Allison truck trans with a mild tune.

It is fresh, zero hours, with shrink wrap.  It comes with a 8-lug Ford 9" 2.50" axle for a full sized 3/4 ton truck.  It has huge F-450 commercial brakes on it, which will stop on dime at any speed.  It also comes with a 90 gallon baffled water tank that weighs 1100lb when loaded, so you don't have to run a radiator.  It also comes with like new 18" M/T + Dunlop tires on custom 18" rims.

Price?  Here's the tricky part.  If you can afford it, you already have one.  Cost was >$60,000 for all, and all of it is like new or new.

Looking for a partner.  I want it to go into a GM minitruck.  You provide the minitruck that is SCTA 2013 spec, and we will both get hats with it.  The class it runs in permits minitrucks, but our truck is 6' tall x 6.5' wide with a 4x4 chassis.  We can get the aero down to about 1/2 of that, but I cannot afford a new truck.  I have complete 200+ mph safety gear including SFI 20 fire, helmet, 38.1, fresh harnesses, etc.

Email a pic of your truck, or your resume and budget to qi@qinsp.com.

Well done.  I believe that 10% of selling price is the standard donation to the site.

Let's see, 10% of $60,000....

If I set the record for a diesel powered truck, then I will cut a check.  Promise.  If I had $6000 today, I'd have it in a S10 already.

Java,

Hmm,,, maybe instead of me getting a sponsor or sponsors to help me get the Stude to Bonneville (a proven 200 mph car)  I should consider a "partner"

I have the Car, I have 3 engines... ..

But for Bonneville maybe I need a TURBO Motor Partner..

I have the Block, heads and all Forged Internals,, Just need a Partner to provide the Turbo's and all plumbing etc... hmm 2 drivers each having a shot at a Hat ?
(and of course 1/2 the work and 1/2 the expense of getting to the salt).

I would consider letting someone drive "as a partner"

I have a fish on the hook, just have to work it right or I'll snap the line.  :-D

If things don't work, I'll look for another victim partner.

We are a Comp Turbo dealer. Maybe we can help if you find someone with funds? I would be down but I have no money and we are also going turbo on the truck.
