Understand Danny Burrow in the Blowfish blew (pun intended) the transmission on the first run at about 150 and spun out.  They are going to make another attempt in the morning.

Correct.  I was with him this morning out on the return road.  Says the video footage has the sounds of big expensive tranny noise bangs at the shift point, which happens around 146 mph I guess.

Ray, we must have been shooting together today looking at your pics.  Valerie changed traction control mode on her bike and it held back her run to 188 today.

I cannot tell you guys how bad-A$$ this car is.  Jeff Brock (owner/driver) set a record today, and then re-entered in another class to go for another.  Don't know how he did in that run yet.  Note his car lettering below.  He painted on his lettering and had to tape of the new class letter and used white shoe polish to make the G and F or and E to an F.  Forgot which way.

2x record holder, Valerie Thompson on a bone stock S1000RR with only altered gearing, going for 200mph+.  I am thinking of re-purposing my own S1000.  :)

Repeat a bit of what Ray posted before.

Engine change, about an hour behind schedule

I always feel like I am at the world's widest beach on the flats...

A real turbo...

I lucked into this shot too....

The guy that built this car, from Utah, if you know him, know how impressive this feat is due to an impairment.  He built it all himself.  The only off the shelf panel is the nose cone.

Hi Mike

Really neat stuff, do you have any more shots of the twin engine red & white roadster? or what ever it is.

The broad array of cars on the salt is just amazing, what a great place for the mind to go crazy !!

Got a text from Scott Brown that Charlie Reno in his AA/BGMR is in impound with a 254+ run on an open record. Charlie has had the old Emmons front engine for quite afew years trying different engine combos. Looks like a good one this time. He has qualified before near or over 250 and won't put a number in the book that does not show good for the class. The record is an open one.

Good luck to all in impounds and hope to hear good news tomorrow AM......................JD

When is SCTA going to get some speeds posted ?

It takes some time, especially at the start of a meet.

Think about it this way - it's all volunteers, they just inspected 500+ vehicles, and they're just catching their stride with respect to the meet.

It takes some time, especially at the start of a meet.

And after a few days out in the sun, trying to get it up and running, I certainly wouldn't begrudge anyone grabbing a bite, remaking some acquaintances and sharing a few beverages.

They'll be posted - they're really good about that.

And thanks to everyone making this meet happen.

Hey - and good morning.  I'm ready to rock and roll with return runs - which started about five vehicles ago.

There were 54 short course and about 25 long course qualifiers yesterday.  This might take a while.

When I hear numbers I'll post and then start to modify the posts, and now and then start a new one.  Use that refresh button, okay?

7326 H/FREMR     169 1/4   171.350 go to impound

636 running on a 221 record on #1

2626 on #2 course

231 1/4  243.271 first mile  251.324   car 636   shut off in last mile

When you see a number starting with "#"  it's course number.

248  on #3   163 first mile   165.962 last mile  go to impound

9997 XXO/BFL on #1   202  1/4  209.187 1st mile   220.9 middle mile

Big thanks to everyone for their efforts on sharing information and broadcasting!!!  Being at work and listening in on SpeedWeek has to be the next best thing to being there.

Is there a spreadsheet or table showing which car# is running in which class?

Thanks again,

Steve M.
