More morning news:

When it absolutely, positively has to be at Land's End.....

As SSS mentioned earlier, the Enola Gay Cafe is set up at the starting line.  They're already open and selling breakfast.

There is some standing water between the staging lanes and the pits.  I couldn't see any water on the course.  What you see in the photo is about 1/4 mile across and I'd expect it to be gone pretty soon with the sun and the breeze (maybe 2 mph).

More later.

Thank you so much for the pictures.  I wasn't able to make it out there this year, so I (like so many others) will be living vicariously through your photos.

I'm shocked that the officials would let a radial arm saw with wheels navigate the pits without a shroud.

My thought too MM. Maybe our intrepid photographer is just faster than the officials.

From a safety perspective that machine is frightening.  Not something for the kids to play with ...

You would think he would have a prop guard just for his own safety, plus the other people around that wan't to get close and take a peek at it.

Its hard to believe he could be that DUMB !!

55 cr thanks for the Museum info, is the 2 story Motel at the east end of town still there right at the bend in the road as that is where we stayed in 65'-66'.

Hi Ray

The Salt bunch just might have the biggest drivers meeting, can't think of another motorsport event with 500 plus drivers each time?

Thank you so much Ray for all the updates and the pics. All of the effort is appreciated. I am glad to know that I wasnt the only one scared by the unshrouded propeller on the "suicideicycle" as it was named. Good luck and be safe everyone!
