The 9900 lakester is about to run -- taking Neil Thompson (?), a passed Gear Grinder, for his final ride on the salt.  Rest in peace - and what a fine way to go.

Pulled the chute at the five - May he rest in peace.

7934 next on #1.    1/4 185  mile 3 192  mile 4  207  last mile 213.749

Looking for any information on a A/BFS Streamliner.

I think it may be car #7800.

Possibly driven by Bob Dalton?

Should say Don Jackson Engineering on the sides and should also have DMPE Supercharger stickers on the sides.

Didn't see them on the pre-entry list.  Might have the car number wrong.

Thanks for any information you might be able to pass on.

Thanks Again,
Roger

Looks like Poteet and Main #1715 (class change) is up next on the long course.  Don't know the new class.  The support truck/trailer just went past me (I'm at the 5) to fetch George.

323 first mile   362.597 fourth mile  382.664 last mile  388.840  back door.

The Speed Demon sure is smooth-sounding.

The "on his belly" bike is next on #1 -- running on a 247 record.  I'll get a number when they announce it.  8111, isn't it?

280  McMeekin & Bros 163 1/4  167.016 mile three

No report on 8111.

Apparently a piece of something came off the #1715 about the 1 1/4, so they're going to do a course sweep now to look for parts.

Speed Demon Motor 3 Take 1?  Or is it Motor 2 Take 3?:  I dunno.  Here's what I've seen around noon today:

A dent in the oil pan from the inside pointing out can't be a good thing.

Thrashing to get the new "lump" installed.

Demon screaming by me at about 382.

And a little heat distortion as he goes out the back door at 388.

Some photos from Impound.

A motorcycle engined Honda (750cc...I forgot what brand) ran fast enough to make it to Impound.

Three photos of the Mitchell Motorsports 37 Chevy with a Wayne/Ferguson 12-port head.  Nice, nice race car.

Speed Demon used up a pair of C motors and then ran the D for the fast run this afternoon - per my visit to the pit.  I saw Amir Rosenbaum there, had a nice chat.  He's not running the Speed by Spectre this year, but couldn't go without at least a visit to the salt.  We'll see him and the car here next year, he promises.

Two shots of the "Manifest of Speed" Karmann-Ghia and a couple of the #1588 C/GT Corvette that I don't know anything about.

It's gettin real interesting here.

First here's a shot of the T2 Turbine liner that ran 265 or so about 90 minutes ago.

Then we got 3 photos of the Blowfish which looped pretty much in front of me (I moved from almost at the 5 mile to just past the 3) and destroyed its deck lid.  I dunno if there was any fire or smoke involved or not.

Next post will have photos of the 788 liner that tossed the laundry out and stopped on track right in front of me,

Hi Sam.  I don't know if it was PP in the lakester or not...I'm still sorta confused on that one.  Maybe someone else can fill us in.
