Looks good so far.  Its south of the equator and they race in the same time of the year as we do.  I wonder why this is.

It's dry as a popcorn ...., the outline of the course used by Campbell in 1935 is still visible.  Like Black Rock w/o the hipsters.
Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.

I'm surprised that all those Studebakers have been exported.

It's not a good sign when the picture on the home page was taken at Bonneville Speedweek in 2010..................    perhaps they haven't yet figured out how to chop a Camel.

My thoughts as well. Did they lift the picture or were they standing next to the real photog?

floating between eight and nine times Glen , so around USD$500.

You blokes are too soft.

The facilities at Wendover make for great comfort and that is great for racing, however, the stark beauty of Gairdner and the degree of difficulty make it an experience that you will never ever forget, this gig at Vermuellen(sp?) would be a memorable experience I'm thinkin......Sleeping in a tent, not the worst thing that could happen to you.

PS: I would have thought you'd have checked the exchange rate Charles......

Studebaker assembled cars in South Africa. Susposedly the remaining V8s were boxed up and sent to South Africa after production ended here. The six cylinder engines going to Israil

Doc, I may be soft, but I would rather sleep near your Aboriginie's, and risk being stepped on by a Emu than be taken hostage by a bunch of loony Somalians and their pet Lions.

Rich --

Thanx for the explanation.  As sturdy as those suckers were, I don't know why you'd have to crate them.  Maybe it was Mandello'd.
