Log Book almost Full
« on: July 13, 2012, 11:08:08 AM »
So, that got me thinking, how does that work? I have a serial number on the book that matches the Sticker on my Roll Cage.

Since I need to get a new Log Book to carry on, do I get a new Sticker? if so, what about the info in the old book? transfer to the new book?

I know I'm not the first one, I just have never heard it discussed.

Mike, you can buy a replacement book or a replacement sticker, go to the scta trailer at the salt.  You might want both if your sticker is worn out.... we had to replace ours last year, the inspector could not read the number clearly enough... personally I can't read the number on the new one clearly.

SCTA/BNI will make a duplicate frame sticker, I don't think they charge for the replacement sticker.

The Frame Sticker is fine, so do they just write my Frame Number on my new log book? Maybe I'll do both anyway.

Frame stickers were $5, last time I looked so were log books... you will need to carry both logs of course

Mike,

What reply did you get when you called/emailed the office?

JoAnn knows the answer?

I thought I would ask here since I've never seen it come up in discussion, doesn't seem to be a real answer, and I'm sure this isn't the first time.

It's not really a problem per se, as it will be taken care of when I get a new log book.

Yes, that was my point. There are several on here who have yet to fill out page one.

Gotcha Dan,

4 Event pages to go, so IF, I make it to World Finals(planning stages) I'll get a New Book then, otherwise, I might be adding a real twist and end up with a ECTA Log Book. Looking at it,  I have some interesting autographs over the years, got you a couple of times

We seem to attract some guy named Kennedy.  Haven't seen the Mayor of Impound in years.

Log related question. I have asked this before and pretty much forgot the answer. Since we are still building the car when do we get our logbook? We have a number assigned already. Do I pick up a log book at Speedweek OR do I have to wait until the first inspection?

The log book is really no big deal. It keeps information for the tech inspectors "after" the car starts running.
The SCTA would like you to pick up your log book at the first inspection I've been told.   8-)

The log will be accompanied by a sticker with a number matching the book. The tag must be applied to the frame in a place visable to the inspectors. It might be nice to do this away from the tension filled arena of the first inspection. You can buy a logook from the registration trailer at any meet.

I agree that you can buy one at any time.  But there's nothing in there to study, no hidden secrets.  I'm just saying there's no reason to get one early.  There's time waiting for inspection to put the sticker on.  The SCTA paperwork you need most, of course, is the Rule Book.  And then download the Inspection Sheet -- it's got a lot more in it that the Log Book.
