Nice build. Breathing fire is good. No need for imitation flame paint job...you make your own flames.

Good racing and may the ice be thick this year!

The Caproni Ca 313I certainly holds a place in Sweden's history, kinda He111 looking isn't it.
I know your type Bill, I am that type too. The need to create is still there, so what's the next one going to be?

Sid,

Next project is already in planning phase, but will be more a modest pre war racer. Still V12 and road legal this time. I will mount a tuned Lincoln zephyr V12 in a Buick 28 chassis. Body will be in aluminium.

Sid, I forgot to mentioning about Caproni Ca 313. Yes! It is a sad chapter of Swedish military air force. The Caproni went under the name of "flying coffin". 38 people got killed in various crashes related to fuel, landing gear, poor design, engine, etc. 5 was killed in the actual war. The engine I have was also part of a crash. I do hope the roaring dragon will have a better history on land.

I had to google your Forgatti to see what it is & now I also have your name right, sorry Glenn.
I also have a passion for big odd engines & I try real hard not to bring too many home. An American LaFrance flathead V12 has been calling my name for a while but so far I have resisted. I did bring home a 600 cu in White industrial flathead 6 engine that was on a generator. It was heading to the scrap metal yard so I had to save it. It was love at first sight, it has a 4" single barrel up draft carb that you can't get your hands around. Now thats a sexy bitch.

No problem. I am used to be called Bill :-) I share your interest of big engines and I didn´t know there was a American La France V12. Must be very rare I guess! That engine just have to call my name once and there shouldn´t be any resistance at all. If you have some pictures of the V12 and the White Industrial Flat head please post it.

Hi Bill,

Great machine.  You say inverted V12?  How does the lubrication system work?

All the best,
SaltRat

Thanks SaltRat!

The lubrication is a dry sump system so it doesn´t matter if the engine upside down or vise versa. I also mounted a pre lubrication pump just to make sure everything is lubricated before the start of the engine.

From what I understand, the American LaFrance flathead V12 was a larger derivative of the Deusenberg engine & is also a 30 degree V12.
There is a later version that has an "F head" configuration also.
I'm having to stay focused on the AA/BFS streamliner I'm building so when all this other cool stuff that pops up, I have to look away.
Big Whitey was headed to the crusher so I had to make an exception there. It's tucked away in the barn so I cant get any pics.

Here's a youtube moment on a V12 A-LF.
